Bank Holiday Bonanza! Er, not really.

So, I managed to do sod all on my new novel over the weekend. This was due to various reasons, which I shall not divulge, but I shall aim to correct this by steaming through this week.

To give you a bit more info about the book, well, it's not quite as in your face, blatant as 'A Year In The Life' - it's much more 'amusing' than 'hysterical'. It's set in a particular time period and surrounds a historically intriguing person or group that we obsess about today....

That's all you're getting for now!

If I write another chapter this week, I'll give you more info....maybe even the title....DUM DUM DUM!!!!!

Cheeky Update

So I've finished the first chapter of my new book...so far so good. I'm not quite ready to release any more details about it yet, but rest assured you shall be filled in post-haste.

More submissions will be sent out this coming September, so hopefully something might come to fruition...! I will of course let you know. I'll be back to do a proper blog post soon, but must dash now!

Back!

Well I'm back! Had a very relaxing time on Italy's west coast, and got some good creative thinking time in too. I will be divulging more info in the coming weeks as well as updating you on the progress of 'A Year In The Life Of Some Guy' and where it's at in terms of agents/publishers.

Hope you're all well and enjoying the summer!

Sorrento Is So Much Better Than Leeds

I'm here! That's right, I'm sitting on a beautiful balcony overlooking the Med and Mount Vesuvius in 35 degree heat, and I tell you what; it's bloody awesome.

I've been making a start on a new book (more details to follow soon), and it's given me a wonderful chance to relax properly and get the old dusty creative cogs working again. I make sure I have at least a few hours worth of writing every afternoon, and so far it's been fairly successful.

Now below is a photo, allbeit a crappy one of my view. I'll upload a better one later in the week, but that's all you're getting for now. I'll post again in a few days and let you know some more details about the new novel.

Ciao!

Writing in Italian Sorren-ity.

Well, lucky me!

This coming Friday I shall be jetting off to Sorrento, Italy for a week. I've never been before, but it looks like a very beautiful place, and the hotel has an incredible balcony looking out from a cliff onto the open sea - exactly the kind of place one can sit for hours and do some good writing!

I may have to stock up on sun tan lotion though, as I only sat outside for 30 minutes yesterday and managed to singe my arm....remarkable really.

Anyhoo, I shall keep you all updated as to my progress and make sure that I make you all jealous when I arrive in Italy.

Toodles.

British Weather Sucks!

It really does, doesn't it?

I can think of nothing nicer than planting my arse down on a smooth patch of newly mown grass in a park and writing underneath the warm sunshine. Sadly it's wetter than a water park in Tenerife at the moment here, and there's zero chance of that happening in the near future.

So I have to stare out of my dreary window instead. It could be worse, yes.

Thanks for all of your nice comments on the JC article - very grateful for all your kind words. Next stop, The Times!
